The Mighty Boosh Book Signing @ Zavvi, Glasgow, 13 Sep
Ten years after they made it famous on the Fringe, the Mighty Boosh choose an Edinburgh publisher to launch their first book
Feeling dreary? Feeling just a little bit too close to reality? You need never have that feeling again, as now for the first time ever you too can have a tiny, surreal, fragment of the Mighty Boosh on your book shelf.
The Mighty Book of Boosh arrives on Saturday to coincide with the start of their UK tour. The tour starts right here in Scotland with dates at the Edinburgh Festival Theatre (tonight) and the Glasgow Pavilion (13 and 14 September). Billed as a sell-out tour, there have now been a few golden tickets released. Run. Run like the wind.
The good news is that even if you run like a girl, you could still be close enough to lick the Mighty ones as they will be in Glasgow’s Zavvi for their book launch on Saturday. Get there by 1pm to get your hands on a signed copy of said literary masterpiece, which contains, amongst its hundreds of pages, Bollo's letters to Peter Jackson, postcards home from Bob Fossil, and some brand new watercolours from Ol’ Gregg. Excuse me while I push ahead of you in the queue.
As you can imagine, the competition amongst publishers to get their hands on the Boosh Bible was pretty fierce, and in the end the boys went with Royal Mile-based Canongate Books because it "epitomises the philosophy of Boosh – risk-takers and creative individuals". And besides, the Boosh were born in Edinburgh – were it not for that fateful Fringe ten years ago, they’d just be derranged hobos like the rest of us.
