The JD Set @ ABC 2, 8 May

With a number of sell-out tours and an equally impressive portfolio of unique collaborations under its belt already, it comes as no surprise to find the JD Set heading north again this month. First up to bat, indie quartet Hatcham Social are out to create a stir with their 60s-inspired, critically acclaimed debut album You Dig the Tunnel I'll Hide the Soil. Following suit is singer songwriter Eugene McGuiness, where charisma and wit are the stock-in-trade on his eponymous new release. As if this isn't quite enough already, the ABC2 will be treated to a twist collaboration from The Wedding Present's frontman David Gedge. A gig not to be missed, if anything, for the complimentary swig of JD on arrival.
