Stooges' gear half-inched!

Iggy Pop and his Stooges are equally as famous for their gritty, no holds barred performances as their timeless blend of proto-punk, and we've seen the 61 year-old Iggy naked perhaps a few too many times. "Domesticated" as he claims to be, the now clean and sober Iggy has even used a vacuum cleaner as a musical instrument in his time.

This trick may well come in handy once again, as their equipment was stolen in Montreal in the early hours of Monday morning. Worth "tens of thousands of dollars," according to their road manager, the Stooges plan to continue on their world tour without it.

Potential culprits touring nearby include Jack Johnson and Gogol Bordello, but do either of them really need Mike Watts' 40 year-old bass?

Sonic Youth's gear was also stolen recently and has not yet been spied on the market, nor down on the street. Is this the start of a new trend of delinquent hard-core fans?
