The Caravan Club Residencies produce an unusual exhibition and some unique free events.

Open Field is a group exhibition presenting a mixture of completed work and impromptu performances by the artists who took part in The Caravan Residencies, with some live free events open to the public.

There is a wide variety of disciplines being exhibited – including painting, film, live performance, even hairdressing – all work produced on site near Loch Lomond, where The Caravan Club practise their ethos of creation away from pressure and deadlines. This welcoming attitude makes the Open Field output rather unique and the whole experience is meant to help create a flow of ideas.

Highlights from the accompanying live events include the Horse Box Orchestra – a series of mechanical orchestra performances by Sarah Kenchington inside a portable, you guessed it, horse box, occasionally acting as accompaniment to live film screenings; Pitcher of Coloured Light – a film programme curated by Luke Fowler showing the best of America’s avant garde directing legends; and Close Field - a unique opportunity to join artists Sarah Ciurysek (Canada) and Sarah Smith (UK) (both members of the Caravan Club) as they discuss the relationship of their art activity to specific locations.
