If reports are to be believed, Robbie Williams’ drummer Chris Sharrock has been lined up as a replacement for Zak Starkey as sticks-man for his longtime rivals Oasis.

Although no official confirmation has been made by the Manc titans regarding Starkey’s future, numerous spats between son of Ringo and Noel Gallagher during the recording of Oasis’ seventh studio album have left the drummer’s position looking rockier than anything the band have produced since 1995.

With Sharrock currently mulling about in the doldrums awaiting Williams to finish his almighty strop with EMI, Gallagher is ready to swoop for the man who put the power into chart-topping ‘classics’ like Let Me Entertain You, Angels and Lazy Days.

A source, and we use this in the loosest term as it’s come from the Daily Mirror, says: “Everyone thinks Chris has had enough of sitting on the picket line and not playing music… Oasis aren’t striking against anyone so at least he’ll be getting a bit of action now.”

The source added: “Oasis and Robbie have an on-going feud. This move is sure to infuriate Robbie.”

Expect toys to be kicked out of prams in the very near future folks. Oh, and a new Oasis album (September, Noel says). Hurrah.
