Kings Of Leon Announce New Album

September date set four Followills' fourth outing

Okay, so they may not be breathing down the neck of the late James Brown just yet, but by comparison to some of their peers, Kings of Leon are certified workhorses. Just six months after completing an expansive arena tour on these shores (not to mention having UK residency for last year’s festival season) the Followill clan have announced the release of their fourth album on top of further UK tour dates this Summer.

Only By The Night will be released on 22 September via Columbia Records / RCA and is being billed already as a rockier follow up to 2007’s Because Of The Times. Bass player Jared says the band are “ready to tackle their southern roots… again.”

This all sounds well and good, but whether it will filter its way into Joe Public’s consciousness in the same manner as last year’s stadium sized, U2 aping effort remains to be seen. Look out for new material at T In The Park this year; the band play the Balado festival on the Sunday. Until then, take a trip down memory lane with this clip of their set at last year's festival.

Kings of Leon play the Main Stage at T in the Park, Balado on Sun, 13 Jul
