Franz Ferdinand Announce Tonight

Feature by Jenny Tzakova | 15 Oct 2008

Some three years after the release of sophomore LP, You Could Have it So Much Better, the wait for fresh material is almost finally over. Glaswegian band Franz Ferdinand have announced the release of their long anticipated third album entitled Tonight.

The 12 track effort will see a UK release on the 26th of January and was produced by London based Dan Carey who has previously worked with the likes of CSS, Hot Chip and Lily Allen.

Lead singer Alex Kapranos commented on the album being “music of the night,” its title truly capturing its essence. "Tonight is to fling yourself around your room to as you psyche yourself for a night of hedonism," he continued, "for the dance-floor, flirtation, for your desolate heart-stop, for losing it and loving losing it, for the chemical surge in your bloodstream. It's for that lonely hour gently rocking yourself waiting for dawn and it all to be even again."

The full album track-listing is as follows:

1. Ulysses
2. Turn It On
3. Kiss Me
4. Twilight Omens
5. Send Him Away
6. Live Alone
7. Bite Hard
8. What She Came For
9. Can't Stop Feeling
10. Lucid Dreams
11. Dream Again
12. Katherine Kiss Me
