Babyshambles star Pete Doherty has returned to the stage after a 29-day stint in jail on drug-related charges.

The 19-year-old singer made his well-received live comeback last night at The Forum in Kentish Town, London. He was released from Wormwood Scrubs prison last week after his 14-week sentence was cut short.

Doherty, dressed in a suit and trilby, confessed to the crowd that he was "a bit rusty" after his time behind bars, and thanked "everyone who wrote a letter over the last month" before opening with Pipedown from debut album, Down in Albion.

The singer claims to have kicked his drug habit while locked up, showing off a clean test certificate after his release.

Doherty was imprisoned in April after repeatedly missing appointments with probation officers. In October, he was reportedly caught driving with no MoT or insurance, while in possession of both heroin and crack cocaine.

In other news, Doherty returns to Glasgow Barrowland on Monday 19 May, tickets are available here.
