April 26 marks the 20th anniversary of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power
Station disaster. To learn more about it and its consequences visit

Taste spring and a bit of summer at the continental markets in St

Patti Smith arrives in Glasgow, or rather, her works arrive at the
Mitchell Library for an exhibition of drawings, paintings and
photographs by this extraordinary musician, poet and performer. The
Work of Patti Smith, The Mitchell Library, North Street, Glasgow, 20
April- 9 May.

For those of you who always thought puppets are just for kids, go and
visit the exhibition 'The World through Wooden Eyes', directed by John
M. Blundall, a master of this art and creator of 'Parker' from
Thunderbirds, and Stephen Foster, specialised in puppet design and
construction. Highly recommended to art students and anyone interested
in theatre and animation. The World through Wooden Eyes, The Mitchell
Library, North Street, Glasgow, is open from 1pm to 5pm daily, closed

showing up-and-coming designers from the north-west of England,
including Michelle Brand, CJ O'Neill and Jon Male. The Velvet Boutique
