With the Olympics not far off on the horizon, you’d think Guns n’ Roses P45-happy frontman Axl Rose would pull his finger out and finally unleash the band’s long-awaited sixth long-player The Chinese Democracy.

However, coinciding nicely with Fathers Day, Geffen have decided to reissue the band’s ‘Greatest Hits’ collection on 2 June. No doubt spurred on by the increased tongue-wagging that ‘Chinese Democracy’ is due to puncture the public’s lugholes by the end of this year, the label are looking to cash in on a record their press release describes as “the only album of choice for any serious rockfather.”

Yes, “rockfather”, they went there.

The statement continues: “From first single and anthem of the late-Eighties LA underbelly, ‘Welcome To The Jungle’, through to the epic balladry of ‘November Rain’ to the last single and cover of the Rolling Stones’ classic ‘Sympathy For The Devil’, this album features the band’s finest moments.”

The full track-listing is as follows:

Welcome To The Jungle
Sweet Child O’ Mine
Patience
Paradise City
Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door
Civil War
You Could Be Mine
Don’t Cry (Original)
November Rain
Live And Let Die
Yesterdays
Ain’t It Fun
Since I Don’t Have You
Sympathy For The Devil

In related news, following the recent revelation that much ignored soda producers Dr. Pepper are promising the whole of America (except Slash) a can of their beverage if The Chinese Democracy is released this year, Axl Rose is worded to have finally handed the album in to his record company in recent weeks. Might the fate of the USA's teeth be safe after all?
