As if Vince Noir wasn't enough of an extrovert already, the immaculately feather-haired one is about to get all Spinal Tap on our ass. Noir, played by Noel Fielding in the popular series The Mighty Boosh alongside his co-star Howard Moon (Julian Barratt), has announced the arrival of a much anticipated Mighty Boosh band. The eccentric shaman Naboo (played by Fielding's real-life brother Mike) and a gorilla named Bollo will accompany the duo as they prepare for their very own Kent-based festival in early July which will include live performances from friends of the show The Kills, and Vince Noir's idol, Gary Numan. Peaches will also be making an appearance with a live DJ set while the interestingly named 'Velvet Onion Stage' will be graced by a host of comedians.

The team's take on 'let's start a band' wanders far from the generic set-up; if a drum bashing monkey is not pushing the boat out far enough their sound will also include that of a 'magic sitar', played by Mike while perched on a toadstool and wearing a turban. Noel, already having made his vocal debut on the show performing with Sue Denim and Dee Plume of Robots In Disguise, will front the 4 piece. The band promises a 'stupidly elaborate odyssey' of 'psychedelic prog-rock' and judging by their on-screen attire their fans will not be disappointed.

The newly-formed band are reported to currently be looking to record an album and Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich is said to be up for the job.
