A Cheeky Slip

An incredible show all around, Mr Choade’s Wild Ride offers classic American striptease in its most daring, stripped-down form.

You cannot fully grasp the difference between UK and US performance until you have borne witness to a proper down-and-dirty New York burlesque show, and this is exactly what the Classic Grand audience got when Mr Choade's Wild Ride - all the way from the infamous Slipper Room in NYC - hit Glasgow last weekend.

Hosted by the aptly named GoGoat Boy, the show promises plenty of girls and a rockin’ live soundtrack, and it delivers. Not suitable for those of a mild disposition, the performances are a whirlwind of shimmy-shaking, grinding, feathers, glitter, contortion and a healthy dose of sleaze.

Former Miss Exotic World Julie Atlas Muz delivers a hilarious first performance in her signature style, combining larger-than life character work with a wicked sense of humour, as she is ravaged and disrobed by a disembodied hand. Her second act is true rock and roll, taking quite possibly the most unexpected turn of the night in the closing moments.

MSTICKLE performs two strikingly different routines: a breath-taking fan-dance that literally stuns the crowd into a silent awe; and a disturbing blow-up doll number that sees one unwitting attendee seated in the front row being subjected to some good old audience participation.

Contortionist, gogo dancer and hula-hooping ecydysiast extraordinaire Harvest Moon’s hula-hooping skills keep the audience entertained during the interval, whilst her other numbers balance exotic striptease with her contortion skills.

The fiery Bunny Love is the perfect temptress-turned-she-devil, and the epitome of American striptease style in one act, whilst serving up a healthy dollop of humour in her other gender-bending number.

From the beautiful numbers to the downright sleazy strip-club antics, it’s definitely not one for the faint-hearted, but if you have the stomach, it’s well worth checking out.
