Theatre Workshop Ticket Giveaway

it will unlock the inner child in the most Scrooge-like of theatre-goers

Theatre Workshop Edinburgh has unveiled its festive programme that, while mainly aimed at kids, still has plenty to offer older audiences. Rather grandly titled A Cornucopia of Delights: festive theatre and puppetry for all the family, the flagship show is a new production of Gerry Mulgrew's sparkling adaptation of Tales of the Arabian Nights. It opens on 15 December and runs right through until the 30th. A co-production between Theatre Workshop and Zendeh Theatre Company, it will feature enough irreverent humour and costumed capering to unlock the inner child in the most Scrooge-like of theatre-goers.

Also on the bill is Puppet State Theatre Company's critically-acclaimed puppetry version of Jean Giono's The Man Who Planted Trees. This truly multi-sensory experience blends sights, scents, sounds and even wind and rain to bring this internationally famous eco-tale to life with green fingered aplomb. Other attractions include Krazy Kat Theatre's The Very Magic Flute, a puppet reworking of Mozart's classic operatic allegory of Freemasonry (if Prince Philip can be classed as 'initiated' then why not finger bobs?) and Clydebuilt Theatre's Red Riding Hood's Magic Purse. Full listings are over the page or at www.theatre-workshop.com. Anyway, those nice people at Theatre Workshop have offered free tickets to Tales of the Arabian Nights to four of you lucky Skinny readers.
