Scotland's coming out! 23 years on from Scotland's first Pride march in Edinburgh, this Saturday sees the first LGBTQ+ march to take place in Dundee. This free event – open to everybody, including families and children – is a celebration of the city's LGBTQ+ community. The goal of the event, Dundee Pride say, is to take a "positive stance against discrimination and violence toward the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered, plus (LGBT+) community and to progress LGBT+ equality, awareness and inclusion within Dundee and the region."

The event kicks off with the Pride Parade at City Square from 12pm, marching around Murraygate, Panmure Street, Albert Square and Reform Street. The march returns back to the City Square ready for the afternoon's entertainment cohosted by Tay FM and beloved Dundee queen Buschie Fandango. Check out the stalls from Xplore Dundee, KO Vintage Clothing, Fish & Frites, 71 Brewing and many more. There's also a Youth Zone with queer literature, gaming, an open mic and a chill zone.

Planning on staying late? Join the after-party at the DUSA students union; all proceeds from ticket sales for the party goes towards to fund Dundee Pride 2019!
