Zac Posen has a new sportswear line

US designer Zac Posen has created a new casual sportswear range for US department store Saks Fifth Avenue, with items starting at a reasonable £50. The line has been positioned alongside labels including M Missoni and Ralph Lauren Blue Label.

Zac told WWD: “We've had so much pressure from people to build out our collection into this more American sportswear look. To me, it's more appropriate to build a whole brand and collection around this price point. Chic sportswear should be at this price point. Designer dresses and cocktail pieces should be at a more expensive price point.”

Zac added he doesn’t want people to view the collection as less important than his other range, insisting he has spent just as much time on it. “It's not Zac-for-less, it's not the little sister collection at all. This is about a new identity... I treat a T-shirt as a T-shirt should be treated. With a lot of love,” he said.
