Taylor Lautner wishes he was a girl

17-year-old actor Taylor Lautner plays werewolf Jacob Black in upcoming film New Moon, but would love to be female so he could take on Kristen Stewart’s role of Bella. In the movie adaptations, Bella falls in love with vampire Edward Cullen, portrayed by Robert Pattinson. The pair struggle with their feelings for each other, with Bella desperate for eternal life and Robert unsure.

“If I could choose any role other than mine I would not mind playing Bella,” she said. “That girl is facing some issues and it would be fun to get inside her mind for a day.”

Taylor added he is happy playing Jacob, although he has previously admitted there is one aspect of his character he would love to change. In Twilight, the first film in the franchise, Jacob sported flowing locks. Taylor was delighted when he was allowed to shave them off for the second movie as they kept blowing into his mouth during shooting.

He said: “The wig hair would get caught in my mouth, and I would be spitting it out in this scene where I'm coming close to kissing Bella. It was annoying.”
