Robert Pattinson has introduced Kristen Stewart to his parents.

The 23-year-old actor and his 19-year-old Twilight co-star are rumoured to be dating, although both have denied they are together. However, Robert's aunt has confirmed he arranged a dinner in Paris for his family to meet Kristen, prompting speculation their romance is hotting up.

Robert's Aunt Diane Nutley said: "They had to keep it secret because they didn't know if they were together or not then."

Last week, the director of the first movie in the vampire film franchise Catherine Hardwicke confirmed the pair are in a romantic relationship. "In terms of what Kristen told me directly, it didn't happen on the first movie. Nothing crossed the line while on the first film. I think it took a long time for Kristen to realise, 'OK, I've got to give this a go and really try to be with this person,' " she said.

Meanwhile, Robert has spoken of his embarrassment at filming a shirtless scene for the latest instalment of the series New Moon. In the movie, he appears topless in front of a crowd of people and Robert admits it was hard to film.

He told Parade: "I felt pretty goofy stepping out into the sunlight in front of 2,000 people in a town square, ripping my clothes off. I was essentially doing a striptease."

In the films, Robert plays brooding blood sucker Edward Cullen, who falls in love with Kristen's character Bella, who is human. The pair struggle to deal with their feelings for each other, with Bella desperate to join Edward in eternal life and him repulsed by the idea of making her a vampire.

He explained: "There was something weird about doing that scene where Edward tells Bella he's never going to see her again. Millions of fans see it as the ideal for a relationship. So breaking up the ideal relationship is pretty daunting.

"Getting involved in Twilight has definitely changed my mind about how people are kind of fanatical about wanting to have the perfect relationship. I had no idea that people were so desperate and felt like it was so unobtainable."
