Kate Hudson's six-year-old son has a crush on Penelope Cruz.

The blonde beauty stars alongside the Spanish actress in new musical movie Nine, and says Ryder spent his whole time on set looking for Penelope. The tot would then spend the evening telling his mother all the times he had caught a glimpse of her that day.

"It was so cute," Kate told Extra. "When I got back from filming he would tell me, 'I saw Penelope in the lobby today'. You could see that he recognised what a beautiful woman she is. He's so cute!"

While Ryder was obsessing over Penelope, Kate was starstruck by another woman. The actress admits she was completely taken aback by Sophia Loren.

"She's just incredibly elegant and beautiful," Kate said. "And the work she's done, and the people she's worked with. It's like a living legend, an icon!"
