Kate Hudson’s boyfriend has given her a $39,000 ring.

Baseball star Alex ‘A-Rod’ Rodriguez bought the actress the Louis Vuitton trinket, which features dazzling diamonds and pink sapphires set in a white gold band. Sources insist the bauble is not an engagement ring, but merely a keepsake to commemorate Alex’s New York Yankees winning the World Series earlier this month.

An insider said: “It’s a beautiful piece of jewellery. Alex has a World Series ring, and now Kate does too!”

The 30-year-old blonde beauty recently urged people to stop obsessing over which finger she chose to wear her rings on, after sparking a media frenzy when she was photographed wearing a diamond sparkler on her engagement finger.

“Did you know that the ring was actually on my right hand?” she fumed. “I'm like, 'Why would I even respond? What would I say if you're going to lie about something ridiculous?'"
