Madonna has traveled Brazil to shoot a documentary.

The pop star will discuss “social projects” with Rio de Janeiro’s governor and oversee work on a television special about children living in slums during her visit. It had previously been claimed the 51-year-old star was travelling to South America to meet her toy boy lover Jesus Luz’s parents, but she has denied this.

“I am going there strictly for fund raising and humanitarian purposes,” Madonna snapped.

Rio de Janeiro Governor Sergio Cabral confirmed he is meeting with the singer and Brazilian billionaire Eike Batista to discuss “possible partnerships”. He added that the star was scheduled to visit several poor communities.

It is unclear whether Madonna will continue with her reported plans to meet 23-year-old Jesus’ family during the trip. Friends have said she is keen to meet the underwear model’s family to prove she is committed to him.

A source said: "Madonna really does love and need Jesus - and she does not hold all the power in their relationship. He grew up with strong Christian beliefs.

"He wants to marry and be taken seriously. She doesn't want to lose Jesus and so the visit to his parents is her way of saying she will make this relationship permanent. He wants her to make an honest man of him."
