Giles Deacon designs limited-edition bag

Giles Deacon has designed a limited-edition bag for charity.

The fashion designer teamed up with Isklar mineral water to create 100 silk tote bags inspired by Norwegian glaciers.

“The Isklar bottle has a faceted surface that shimmers and sparkles like the crystals of the frozen glacier from which it came,” Giles said. “The challenge for me was to translate the mystical quality and inherent style that is present in the Isklar story into a pattern and fabric and in turn a handbag.”
The result is a blue, white and silver tote crafted from Giles’ signature silk jacquard fabric.

“It’s a little special and a little magical,” he said. “The best thing about fashion is the fun that you have playing and experimenting with things. I am always on the lookout for new, interesting brands with which you can get creative and have a bit of fun. With Isklar I felt there was a real story to be told - one with strong visual qualities that transferred seamlessly into fashion design.”

The bags are on sale now at gilesdeaconisklar.com. They cost ?95, with 50 per cent of the proceeds going to Oxfam.
