Drugs “dumb”, says Joss Stone

Joss Stone thinks musicians who do drugs are “dumb”.

The soul singer enjoys smoking marijuana, but insists she would never take heroin or cocaine because it’s “stupid”.

“You’ve got to have a lack of intelligence to do that to yourself,” the 22-year-old star told the Star magazine. “I think it’s stupid. Take someone like Amy Winehouse. Amy’s music is beautiful, her lyrics are f**king great, but she had to start loving the music more than she loved herself and the drugs.

“Just open your eyes and don’t be dumb. Amy’s not a kid, she makes her own decisions. If you choose to live in London, go to clubs every night and get hammered, it’s going to take a toll.”

Despite her strong views, Joss admits some drugs sound like “fun” and says she will probably experiment with them in the future.

“I hardly ever go out,” she said. “I don’t want to take all those horrible drugs. Although some sound fun, so I might dabble now and then!”

Joss smokes marijuana to relax while recording music and believes it less harmful than drinking alcohol.

 She explained: “I smoke weed, but I don’t think it’s really a drug. It’s more of a herb. I don’t regret saying that at all. I think everyone smokes weed and people who say they don’t are lying! It’s like having a drink.

 “Weed has been given this evil stamp, but how is it dangerous? It’s going to make you laugh you’re a**e off. I think alcohol is much more harmful. People beat the f**k out of each other on alcohol.”
