Claudia Schiffer thinks young models spend too much time partying.

The German supermodel has advised those starting out in the fashion industry to spend the majority of their time at home resting if they want to be successful. While she admits there is nothing wrong with enjoying yourself, she insists girls won’t get booked if they turn up to work looking tired after a heavy night out.

“I’d advise new models to take it very seriously,” she told Britain’s Hello! magazine. “I notice with a lot of young models that there is a lot of partying going on. But if you want to succeed in the long term you have to work hard and take it seriously as a career. You have to focus, be disciplined, turn up on time, look your best and be fresh and not tired; then you have a really good chance of having a long career, otherwise you burn out quickly.”

Claudia, 39, added it is this mentality which ensures Cindy Crawford, Linda Evangelista and Christy Turlington are still winning work.

The model added she is blissfully happy with her life, and does not mind growing older. She feels happier with the way she looks now than when she was younger, and would not turn the clock back even if she was given the option. “If somebody said they had a magic wand and could make me 20 again I wouldn’t want it. I feel much, much better about myself today and I’m in much better shape and healthier than ever before,” she said.
