Beyonce wants a baby with Jay-Z

Beyonce Knowles wants a baby.

The singer's husband Jay-Z reportedly told the editor of Gotham magazine they feel ready to start a family.

America's New York Daily News website reports: "While chatting up Gotham magazine editor in chief Cristina Greeven Cuomo recently, the rapper let it slip that procreating is high on the duo's priority list right now."

The decision marks a big change for Beyonce, who publicly insisted she was not ready for children just seven months ago. The 28-year-old star revealed watching her sister Solange give birth had put her off having a baby of her own.

"I definitely want a baby, but I'm not ready for all of that," she said. "I don't think a person should see that before her time. It was a little much." During the interview with Gotham magazine, Jay-Z also spoke about the importance of self-confidence.

"I don't dislike anything about myself," he said. "I know this sounds a little arrogant, but I really accept what God has given me. I've got a short temper, but I work on controlling it. I can say inappropriate things because I believe them to be true and sometimes that can be hurtful to others. But I think in the long run it is more helpful."
