Thyrd Eye - Say Something

Seemingly stuck between trying to sound like Queens of the Stone Age or Evanescence, Thyrd Eye ultimately fail in creating a convincing cross between the two. The band, comprising of three Monmouthshire siblings, may have the right ideas in place, along with a decent vocal and musical range, but this doesn’t make up for the poor quality of their debut single, Say Something. The riffs aren’t furious or immediate enough to suggest that this is anything other than middle-of-the-road rock that lurches back and forth from gothic to grunge several times in the space of four minutes.
