The Upper Room - Black & White

Even the most hardened pop cynics will fall in love with this.

Single title: Black & White
Artist: The Upper Room
Label: Columbia
Brighton's The Upper Room are carrying the torch for classic British pop which defies all trends and fads. It's down to song writing, pure and simple and in Black & White they have an undeniably enjoyable, perfectly formed pop single. The first verse draws you in with a simple depiction of a mysterious girl in the rain, before the soaring melody lifts your spirits heavenward with a chorus to be shouted from the rooftops with anthemic zeal. Even the most hardened of pop cynics could fall in love with this. [Dave Reid]
