The Marshals - Make Her Cry

Fifteen listens in and not a single emotion is evoked in my mind

Single Review by Chris Nordeng | 16 Apr 2006
Single title: Make Her Cry
Artist: The Marshals
Label: Vertigo
When the record industry starts to bang the big drum concerning a new signing you'd perhaps expect them not to necessarily be extraordinary but at least more captivating than an open-mic newcomer down the local legion. The Marshals - signed to Vertigo and with a forthcoming debut produced by John Cornfield (Oasis, Razorlight) - make it terribly difficult to impress with their debut single Make Her Cry, an M.O.R. rock creation with a slight bluesy touch. Fifteen listens in and not a single emotion is evoked in my mind, competent yet mediocre is a formula that can only lead to sure failure. [Chris Nordeng]
The single is released on March 6. http://www.themarshals.com
