Label: Virgin

Part of the latest rock assault on the mainstream, The Kooks have been pre-ordained for big things, and this is sure to help them on their way. It hits all the right buttons: solid rocking melody complete with catchy beat, brilliant distorted guitar, and inoffensive lyrics about ill-requited love sure to strike a chord with, well, just about everyone. This sort of by-the-numbers rock song can still somehow be surprisingly difficult to get right, and while nothing new, it's catchy without becoming annoying, important for something we're all likely to hear more than a few times on the radio.

This single is out now.
