The Early Years - So Far Gone

the promised climax comes in the form of an effects pedal orgy

Single title: So Far Gone
Artist: The Early Years
Label: Beggars Banquet
London three-piece The Early Years offer up this psychedelic number as their second single ahead of their debut album release due in September. The guitars enslave a variety of effects pedals to yield a powerful, cavernous tone. The delay-fuelled riffs of So Far Gone all point towards great and engaging melodic rock but the vocals are sparse and the promised climax comes in the form of an effects pedal orgy which fails to satisfy the potential of the cute rolling bass line and tight percussion. A tour is promised later in the year to support the LP release and with the ambition and scale in their sound, the live circuit looks the likeliest setting for the The Early Years to prove their undoubted promise.
