Tapes n Tapes - Hang Them All

A surging, limb-flinging offering from a band to be welcomed home like a long lost cousin.

Single title: Hang Them All
Artist: Tapes n Tapes
Label: XL

The return of Tapes n Tapes should be rejoiced. For all the intricate, equation-riddled indie twanging that's gone on since the Stateside quartet released 2005's debut LP The Loon, very little has rivalled their blues soaked wig-outs for sheer, unadulterated euphoria. New single Hang Them All jettisons into the same stream of incessant jaunting rock as before, laden with clattering guitar and a red-hot poker of scuffling organ and striding percussion. Perhaps not as infectious as the likes of Insistor or Cowbell, this is still a surging, limb-flinging offering from a band to be welcomed home like a long lost cousin. [Billy Hamilton]
