We've got some proper fans in the house! These are the first words uttered by vocalist Craig Wellington after finishing the opening track and realising he has started a mini indie disco riot at his feet.

He sounds surprised; perhaps he and the rest of the Leeds four-piece should start getting used to it. The Sunshine Underground sound tight as hell from the word go and the entire crowded floor of the Cabaret Voltaire seems to be moving to their beat. What follows is a set full of spiky, angular, guitar-driven dance-punk tunes fuelled by Daley Smith's persistently energetic bass lines. New single Put You In Your Place is the strongest moment; it's impossibly catchy and will undoubtedly be shaking the walls of your local indie club in the near future.

Despite resembling a shy, scruffy student who should sound like Chris Martin, Wellington owns the stage with his swaggering vocal antics and his confidence seems to grow with every track, most notably on new tune I Ain't Losing Any Sleep. With the one-two combo of Zane Lowe and the NME behind them plus respectable slots at the Carling Festival, things are looking good for the release of debut album 'Raise The Alarm' at the end of the month. They close with the album's title track; another wonderfully danceable affair which leaves the crowd wanting more.
