Sean Paul - Temperature

Sean sounds as if he's impersonating himself being played at the wrong speed

Single Review by Caroline Hurley | 17 Mar 2006
Single title: Temperature
Artist: Sean Paul
Label: Atlantic
Sean Paul is the dancehall reggae mumbler it's okay to like; non-threatening, no discernible homophobia and once worked with Beyonce, aww. So he's better off doing duets with hot girls or releasing catchy floor-filling nonsense than trying something a little less amusing and falling flat. The simplicity of Temperature just sounds dated and hollow, we're living in the post-N.E.R.D production era, and this has none of the snap that listeners now demand. Sean sounds as if he's impersonating himself being played at the wrong speed. Might do okay, but all told, the 'Temperature' is tepid. [Caroline Hurley]
