Ross Copperman - As I Choke

an admirable skill for mimicry

A good first single from a fresh talent, featuring some Jeff Buckley like howling, Muse inspired instrumentals and Thom Yorke styled vocals. That Copperman can imitate such artists is an achievement in itself, and there are flashes of plenty of other similar acts here which proves he has an admirable skill for mimicry, but also means he lacks creativity. Hopefully this is just the radio-friendly first single, since Copperman obviously has talent, and played live the dreamy vocals coupled with fierce instrumental arrangements are the stuff that fills stadiums - but not unless he can do a lot more than is suggested by this track.
