Paramore - Pressure

Insignificantly different to Avril [Lavigne]'s 'My Happy Ending'.

Single Review by Neil Ferguson | 12 Dec 2006
Single title: Pressure
Artist: Paramore
Label: Fueled By Ramen
The latest cool in girl-fronted pop-punk, Paramore borrow heavily from Avril Lavigne for new single, 'Pressure'. Yep. Avril Lavigne. Vocalist Hayley Williams sounds dangerously close to an Avril clone and the song is only superficially different to 'My Happy Ending'. Okay, so, maybe they've tossed in a few nuances of New Found Glory. Maybe their guitars aren't as polished as Avril's are and the vocals rely just as heavily on Tsunami Bomb's Agent M, but it doesn't make it any better. Pressure is a weak pop-punk song in a world already over-populated with weak pop-punk songs. [Neil Ferguson]
