Kelly Roland, one third of the once great Destiny’s Child, presents another slice of predictable RnB blandness. Ever since the ‘super group’ went their separate ways, they’ve got worse by the day, and despite her exceptional vocal ability, this effort still falls way short of acceptable. Daylight is a cheesy summertime / post party vibe, that ships in guest rapper Travis McCoy from the Gym Class Heroes in an attempt to make it more credible in some way. The tune? A cover of a Bobby Womack and Harold Payne production, originally performed as a Womack track in 1976, it's a tune that should probably have been left well alone. Expect to hear it in a lift or burger bar near you soon.
