GUILDEAN GANG - DENNIS BERGKAMP

It’s difficult to discern the meaning behind Guildean Gang’s debut single. Is the title a band-only in-joke? Or maybe an attempt to show that, while they specialise in portentous indie-rock, they don’t take themselves too seriously? Or perhaps it’s a genuine ode to the Dutch football legend? Vocalist Charlie Stone’s full-throated, syllable-garbling howl may scupper attempts to translate the sentiments driving this impressively moody four minutes - presumably “CreeakinuptheSTTEEEEEEEEZ” is a disguised reference to a ball-control technique?
