Daniel Powter - Lie to Me

A fine party track, but it's not to be long remembered like 1999

Single title: Lie to Me
Artist: Daniel Powter
Label: Warner
Jazzy/funky ensembles can often create something quite effortlessly fantastic, given a much-do focus on instrumentation. Ideally, when the instruments form a vibrant chemistry, we'll be whisked away by the rhythm and naturally provided with a reason to dance. This soulful single seems to have great potential with solid instrumentation, however the vocalist seems to weigh down the rest of the band. Instead of focusing on the aforementioned dynamic, said singer is too focused on sounding like Prince. Lie to Me might be a fine party track, but it's not to be long remembered like 1999. This single is out on April 17.
