D.o-Neimagi-N.e/I-Ambnecessno - A No Place

Were David Lynch commissioned to direct a dream sequence depicting a dying man, prostrate on the floor of his darkened apartment, while Requiem For A Dream flickers at half speed in the background and the room slowly fills with dirty water, A No Place might well find itself appointed official soundtrack. Troubling and minimalist throughout, it's a work in three acts, the bulk of the matter contained in the first. For sure, this is not driving music, but when the piano is introduced at 12 minutes things begin to fall into place with ominous clarity. Like so much art it demands emotional investment from its listener, but the rewards are certainly forthcoming.
