Single title: Back Again
Artist: Boy Kill Boy
Label: Mercury
Truly the so-called indie genre is fast becoming more and more predictable. Boy Kill Boy, a London quartet that has been dropped left and right as a hot tip for the Chinese year of the Arctic Monkey is yet another sad confirmation of this very statement. Debut single Back Again kicks off with a catchy post-punk riff and delivers a standard synth-laden indie-angst sound that falls somewhere in between Hard-Fi and ehm, Hard-Fi. Catchiness? Check. Glossy production? Check. Approved by Zane Lowe? Check. It's just too easy to be cynical about Boy Kill Boy. Anyone up for a Shock Waves sponsored tea party? [Chris Nordeng]
