The Hussy's - Napoleon EP

With "bling/thing" rhymes to make you smile wider than Napoleon Dynamite ever did

Single Review by Sean Michaels | 16 May 2006
Single title: Napoleon EP
Artist: The Hussy's
Label: Self-Released
Don't let bad grammar deter you from good music. Sure, The Hussy's have an extraneous apostrophe in their name – but they make up for it with vim and zip and wow. In short: with fantastic pop music. On their second EP, these Glaswegians boast all the strengths of their first: terrific melodies, punchy vocals, Beach Boys harmonies and pop-punk spark. The arrangements are marvels – jangling guitars meet ragtime piano, backbeat bass and the cantering song of pink-haired Fili. While I cringe through the maudlin lyrics of Friends Reunited, the words to Napoleon roll like red sweets off Fili's tongue, with "bling/thing" rhymes to make you smile wider than Napoleon Dynamite ever did. Freakin' awesome. [Sean Michaels]
