V/A - Prins Thomas & Full Pupp presents The Greatest Tits Vol.1

Alongside Hans Peter Lindstrom and Todd Terje, Prins Thomas forms the Norwegian triumvirate famed for their own twisted take on the disco template. While Lindstrom runs Feedility, Thomas has his own Full Pupp label, and Greatest Tits Volume 1 offers a selection of its hits, edits and future releases over a pair of CDs, both mixed and unmixed. Over the fifteen-track Prins mix we’re treated to lush sunset-balearica, cosmic-tinged disco, tripped-out techno and effects-laden house all at a sensuously paced, mid-tempo groove. With too many highlights to choose from, it’s best to move onto the unmixed disc. Featuring ten cuts, only Blackbelt Anderson’s Sandoz make a repeat appearance from the first CD. Praiseworthy full-length efforts here include Todd Terje’s mesmerising and aptly-titled Glittertind, and Afterski’s delicious piano and acid combination courtesy of the snappily-titled Ytre Rymeden Dansskola. Mental Overdrive’s Skanken is brilliantly reminiscent of French Kiss and stands out, though again the quality is high throughout.
