Skye - 'Mind How You Go'

Skye gets personal

Album Review by Marie Lindstrom | 17 Mar 2006
Album title: 'Mind How You Go'
Artist: Skye
Label: Atlantic
The deep, warm voice of Morcheeba, Skye has spent the last few years working on her debut - on which she pulls all the strings and refuses to negotiate with her emotions. Truthfully, she was the mood-setter, the base perhaps, of Morcheeba's mellow tunes. Being on her own, she takes the main stage once again and lets the backgrounds be just that. Skye gets personal. Some of the songs are co-written with her husband, who also plays the bass, and named the album after a phrase frequently used by her (and a million other people's) mother. It's hard to imagine her screaming or raising her voice, the words flows like soft silk, so soft that it at some points is almost comatose. [Marie Lindstrom]

Mind How You Go' is released on Feb 27.
