Everyone loves a good scream now and then. Hell, it's the closest some of us come to therapy. Surrey alternative rockers Reuben have taken this therapeutic means (quite literally, it seems, having added a little dash of Therapy?) and crafted it into a curious mix of indie rock flavour, Foo Fighters riffage and (almost) Megadeth-esque lung-bursting. Cities On Fire makes for a largely impenetrable opener to the album, but those who turn back at the first hurdle will only be missing out come the finishing line. Good Luck is a surprisingly melodic, low-key ballad, while Deadly Lethal Ninja Assassin proves that they can even manage well-crafted power-pop when they set their minds to it. The heavier moments are sure to put a few easy listeners off, but Reuben have more to offer than just the screaming, and anyone who names their live DVD What Happens In Aldershot Stays In Aldershot can only warrant further investigation.
