Scuzz-fuzz, post-punk electro? No wonder our parks aren't safe these days. Park Attack isn't your typical park bench sitting, buckfast-swigging tearaway wreaking havoc on unsuspecting passers-by - it is much more terrifying. Sounding like a delirious-hybrid of Sonic Youth and The Jesus and Mary Chain, debut album 'Halfpast Human' emits venom from every pore, piously injecting itself into your bloodstream without any thought of the consequences. This album is malignantly deranged; the hollow production creates a vacuum of unhinged instrumentals and incoherent vocals, whilst sinister electronica adds a maniacal edge to the concoction. There are moments when the band veers too far into lucid experimentation, but this is excused by the sheer lunacy of The Racket, which screams like Surfin' Bird caught in a flu epidemic. 'Halfpast Human' is no stroll in the park but it certainly is an exhilarating trip. [Billy Hamilton]
