Mojave 3 - Puzzles Like You

I must confess to being a bit of a cynic up to now when it came to Seasonal Affected Disorder (SAD) but having charted the transformation of the members of Mojave 3 from their days in Slowdive up to the present, I'm now convinced that a) it definitely exists, b) they all suffer from it, and c) they've all been getting out in the sunshine a lot more recently. Those familiar with Slowdive's dark and brooding soundscapes will find it hard to believe that the same people could be responsible for this sparkly album that is bursting with catchy melodies and exudes the heady atmosphere of warm summer evenings. 'Puzzles Like You' chimes with joyous energy from beginning to end and will definitely soundtrack a summer. All we need now is the sunshine. What chance? [Dave Reid]
