Frothy, obvious and self-righteous

Coldplay. Keane. Snow Patrol. All are household names now, their careers built on the kind of indie-lite that your mother probably thinks you love, when in reality you bought Parachutes when it was first released and have been sniggering at Chris Martin's attention-seeking antics ever since. West London-based band Grace could easily join this not-so-exalted company, peddling exactly the same kind of radio-friendly tunes that you'll undoubtedly be hearing from now until the early 2010s, without ever actually liking them. Indeed, Diving Bell could be Martin and co hiding behind a pseudonym and while Stand Still rattles along nicely on an unconventional drumbeat, it still ends up sounding like Lightbody and pals with an English accent. Frothy, obvious and self-righteous. You'll be hearing more from Grace, whether you like it or not. [Dan Coxon]
