Enjoy Destroy - Little Dreams

A fine place to jump on board the bandwagon

Album title: Little Dreams
Artist: Enjoy Destroy
Label: Fire One
Enjoy Destroy come out with all guns blazing on Little Dreams, their debut long player. With mid-to-late 90s reference points such as Pearl Jam, Sliverchair, and Queens of the Stone Age these youngsters set out plenty of reasons to watch them closely. Steering clear of hard rock fury and intensity, they instead couple taught crunchy riffs with softer more refined vocals. There is a drive-time rock feel to much of it, more reminiscent of Stereophonics' more recent work than those Queens references they suggest, but these boys know how to let fly with riffs too. Screamer may well have you reaching for your dad's air guitar, to dust it down and show off your power chords. However, too many songs wind down before they truly explode, the title track and current single is a particular culprit. Given time, however, Enjoy Destroy can only prove their potential, and this is a fine place to jump on board the bandwagon. [Neal Parsons]
