Bouchereau - Different Neck of the Woods

this eleven minute EP doesn't suggest that the complimentary studio time has been utilised to its fullest potential

Album title: Different Neck of the Woods
Artist: Bouchereau
As winners of FOPP's Award for New Music, Bouchereau were afforded a chance to record this EP in a professional studio and are set to benefit from distribution across FOPP stores. It's all very nice, whatever you may take that word to mean. Throughout the three tracks, this trio sound alternately like Bob Marley strumming nonchalantly on a summer's day and drearily mild hippy workouts. You can't be entirely sure what is entailed by FOPP's prize, but this eleven minute EP doesn't suggest that the complimentary studio time has been utilised to its fullest potential, and these lazy vibes seem far more suited to background bar music than the stereo.
