Every year, Wide Days brings together musicians, fans and industry types for a weekend of talks, panels and live music. One of the centrepieces of Wide Days are its showcases – free public gigs that give a spotlight to some of Scotland's most exciting new musicians.

The 2020 showcase line-up is an eclectic snapshot of Scottish music. There's pop, from the polished and impressive Glasgow duo One Nine. There's an exciting pair of songwriters – Magpie Blue, and Kapil Seshasayee, who blends electronic sounds with Indian guitar elements. There's hip-hop from Edinburgh duo Billy Got Waves & Joell, indie-pop from Swim School, and raucous punk from the excellently-named MEMES. Listen to tracks by each of this year's showcase artists in this Spotify playlist.

In addition to the gigs, Wide Days' full conference programme features panels on distribution, ways in which musicians can use data, music video, and a new local heroes strand with FLY Events founder Tom Ketley and veteran agent and promoter Lisa Whytock. There's also a music-inspired walking tour of Edinburgh, and a Festival Takeover event on Saturday 25 April with bands programmed by a trio of music festivals.

The Wide Days showcases take place on Fri 24 April; Wide Days takes place at venues across Edinburgh from 23-25 April
