We Were Promised Jetpacks back with new single and album

It’s been four long years since We Were Promised Jetpacks released third album Unravelling. In the ensuing years there’s been a slight change to personnel (they’ve returned to the original four-piece line-up) and a move to a different label (they’re now on Big Scary Monsters).

The much-loved Edinburgh-based band return all guns blazing this month, however, with new single Hanging In, which they’ve released online today. It’s the first track to be shared off upcoming fourth album The More I Sleep The Less I Dream, which marks a new chapter for the band. “The album is so much about us going back to our basics and relying on our instincts,” said WWPJ's guitarist Mike Palmer. “There’s a range of songs that span everything we do as a band, and we’re the connection between them. It feels like this album is us.”

They’ll also be embarking on a massive 50-date world tour that kicks off in Portland, Maine on 19 September, taking in most of the US, Europe and the UK. Among the massive tour are three Scottish stops in November: Aberdeen’s The Lemon Tree on 14 Nov, Glasgow’s Saint Luke's on 15 Nov and a homecoming gig at Edinburgh’s The Old Dr Bells Bath on 17 Nov.
